GABRIELE GIDION
Gabriele Gidion is a Senior Merchandising, Store Management and Product expert. Throughout her 30 year accomplished career in retail, she identified, hired and developed talented professionals. Today there are innumerable leaders in nationwide retailers and wholesalers who have had the distinct advantage of Ms. Gidion’s initial training and mentoring.
She first partnered with Ms. Cappellini in their recruitment work together at TMP Worldwide and Lemming/LeVan Inc. They launched C&G Associates, confident that their backgrounds and professional styles perfectly complemented one another.
Ms. Gidion’s extensive merchandising knowledge includes Department and Specialty store background in Women’s, Men’s, Children’s, Intimates, Cosmetics, and Gifts. Before devoting her efforts to executive recruiting, Ms. Gidion was Executive Vice President and General Merchandise Manager at I. Magnin, Emporium, Steinbach’s, and The Forgotten Woman. She gained invaluable merchandising experience as a Divisional Vice President of Merchandising at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
Ms. Gidion’s goal has always been to get the job done and the problem solved, which she demonstrated consistently throughout her career. With a keen ability to adapt to any business environment or profile, Ms. Gidion identified and solved problems expeditiously in Merchandising, Personnel, and Structural operations.
An expert in strategizing retail turnarounds and assembling highly-productive management teams at all levels, she built apparel businesses for department and specialty stores. Restructuring the entire women’s area for a multi-billion dollar department store, she staffed the organization to manage the businesswhich catapulted into the fastest-growing and most profitable segment in the company, generating 25% of the total volume with dramatic gross margin increases.
Ms. Gidion’s education and training includes specialized studies in Retail at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario, and Liberal Arts at Beachlawn College, Oxford, England.
